No Ron Paul at the Gun Show!

No Ron Paul at the Gun Show!

Censorship in San Diego is alive and well!  Just when I thought the last couple weeks were too easy...  LOL
So I worked the gun show at my friends' booth again.  The same gun shows I've been going to for a while...doing the same thing...  I help him sell his stuff, tactical gear, shirts and hats while giving out movies and literature about important things in America, especially relating to our Bill of Rights.  You know the one that gives us the right to own a gun.  I always thought a gun show would be appropriate for that type of hate speech since most people there either own guns already or want to buy one...DUH!!!
So I was talking with a friend today at the booth and he was on his way out, so I decided to walk out with him and smoke a cigarette...smoking is always a good reason to get out, unless you live in Del Mar, El Cajon or other Neo-Nazi fascist cities that don't even allow you to smoke in your own apartment anymore..
So we were outside talking and an 8 dollar an hour red shirt that said 'security' on it came up to me.  I thought she was going to tell me that I was too close to the entrance to smoke, but no.  For some reason the Ron Paul shirt and sign I had been wearing all weekend finally got to her....some say it was the blonde pig tails and big ....uh, chest...
I'm going to repeat the conversation back here for you.  Sorry I don't have it on video, but video cameras are not allowed at the gun shows anymore...

me..."Hello, how are you?"
her   "You can't wear that sign here,"
me... "Really?  Why not?"
her... "it's too controversial, you can't solicit here....we have a free speech zone over by the park."

Wait a minute, I can't solicit?  Not that I was, but we did just pay 200 to get the booth for the weekend...

LMAO  Yes, I was really laughing...so we went on to explain that this was my friend I was talking to, NOT SOLICITING ANYTHING.  I just wanted to go smoke.  (He was actually an editor of a newspaper...might make a good story)

When she pulled the free speech zone on me I said, "I'm sorry ma'am, I'm from America and here my free speech zone is anywhere I decide to open my mouth!"
She didn't like that, so she says she's going to have to have me removed.  I said, sure, just please do me a favor and tell me what law I am violating first.  I have to admit her attitude and lack of violence was a bit more tolerable than the SDPD, BUT she did single me out for no reason.
She tried to tell me I wasn't allowed to solicit political votes at the show.
We once again informed her I was NOT SOLICITING anything at that time.  I was talking to a friend, smoking a cigarette.
She tried to argue the free speech thing so I turned around and asked her if I had to take my shirt off as well.  After all, it was a Ron Paul shirt.    She didn't really know how to answer that so she told me she had to take me to the front.  I asked her once again to explain the law I was violating.  She couldn't come up with anything so I refused to go with her.  I ignored her and went back to my conversation.  She once again interrupted and said that she had to take me to the front.  I asked for her supervisor.  She said she was the supervisor and made the decisions.  I once again asked her what law I was violating.  She didn't have an answer so I asked her to call the police, there was only a few hundred standing around so that they could come and take me away, after they came up with a law that I was violating....of course.
She walked away in a huff and I went back to my ciggarette and conversation.  My friend took off so I walked back inside.  On the way in, I started talking to some other gun show buddies and what do you know?  There she was again!  She actually came up to the table to tell me I couldn't talk to them either!  She wanted me at my booth!  BUT, just being at the booth wasn't enough.  She wanted me BEHIND IT!    So the men interrupted and asked if we could finish our conversation.  I informed them that she was following me around harassing me because she was trying to convince me that talking to people with my sign was illegal.  She once again said she had to take me to the front.  I asked her why.  She said it was about "another issue" someone wanted to talk to me about.  I asked her what issue?  She did not tell me so I went back to chatting.
After 20 minutes of standing over me, I asked if we could have some privacy.  She once again told me I had to go to the front.  I said if what I was doing by talking to friends was wrong, one of the sherriffs should come take me away.  It was a gun show after all.  There's a fed at every other booth and uniformed officers at every aisle.  I was confident that if I was doing something wrong, I would have known about it by now.
So then the person I was sharing a booth with came over and asked her what the problem was.  She tried to explain to him that he knows the rules and that I was not allowed to solicit anyone at the show.  Kind of strange, I guess talking to friends means soliciting.  Not to mention the fact that every single shirt that is worn at the gun shows is someone soliciting something.  What's funny about it is that in neither conversation she interrupted were we even talking about Ron Paul!  It was merely what I was wearing!
To make a long story short, I won.  I told her I would not take it off and I was not violating any laws.  If she wanted to she could make a citizens arrest and call the police.  I pointed to a couple that were standing nearby...of course she didn't go to them because she knew that she was harassing me only because I was me and wearing something she didn't like.
I also pointed out a couple codes that she might want to brush up on if she was going to find a carreer in law enforcement.
FREE SPEECH IS DEAD IN SAN DIEGO!!!
After this, I had people walking up to me asking me who Ron Paul was and if I could tell them about him!  They also ended up wearing his signs and after giving them literature, they swear I swayed their vote!
I can only hope so....but either way, I thought it was funny that it was all the other red shirt security that was soliciting me after they saw me stand up for my rights.
The booth owner "cleared it" with the gun show supervisor and we found I wasn't a problem after all...go figure.
Just another nazi with a badge that has to exert their power.  Kind of like the parking security guy at the grocery store that tried to tell me I couldn't put up a sign halfway down the block and across the street at the freeway onramp under his duty.  Of course he was not patrolling the freeway, he just needed to exert his power.  They really don't know what to say when someone tells them no.
What's so amazing to me is that most people say, uh, okay, uh, whatever you say...but what you don't understands is that's why we have no rights anymore!  Call me crazy, call me a loon, a trouble maker, whatever you prefer, but I will stand up for my rights.  If I'm breaking a law, I'll be the first to admit it.  Just ask the cops that pulled me over for drinking and driving a few years ago....They asked me what I had to drink.  I answered 5 vodka redbulls and a pina colada...their jaws dropped, but it was the truth.  I was breaking a law that night.  I accepted responsibility and dealt with it like any responsible human should.  Not only did I get my classes done BEFORE I had to go to court, the judge was so thankful to me that he gave me the minimum fine possible and thanked me for doing it the right way.
Ironically, the public defender people were yelling at me for wanting to plead guilty and telling the cops the truth.  I just don't get it!  They actually want you to plead not guilty even when you are guilty!  Oh yeah, job security.  Let's rape the tax payers for as much as we can get...if we had too many honest people, we wouldn't need all these lawyers, judges, clerks, etc...anyway, that's for an entirely different blog.  I'm so blown away how you get rewarded for breaking the law in America, yet treated like a terrorist for being a red blooded American and law abiding citizen.  And that, I am.
I am thankful however that the wanabe Nazi today did that to me because it helped me get the word out about Ron Paul even more!  No one would have paid attention to me outside smoking a cigarette if she wouldn't have interrupted and followed me around.
Maybe she thought I was cute...
