What is a media whore?

What is a media whore? This
is a term I have heard a lot lately. I thought I would do some
research and see exactly what the definition is so that I can either
agree with or refute this slanderous claim against me. media whore (plural media whores)
From my understanding of this definition, I do not fit in to either of these examples. First of all, I am anything but popular as evidenced by the many slanderous comments and public conspiraces against me. I am also under the impression (correct me if i'm wrong) that if one were to crave media attention, I would assume that meant they went out of their way to get attention, such as in writing press releases, calling media, etc... Now my only attempt at writing a press release was before the Migrant March on 2/2/07, which was rewritten by the person who wanted me to speak for and represent him and his group. I have made no attempts to write another since and never did before that day in my entire life. I do know others however, that continuously use me as their subject in their daily press releases... I have returned calls and emails of media outlets that have contacted me, thanks to these other people's press releases with my contact info on them, but I have never gone out of my way to talk to them. Sometimes, especially when you're a 6 foot blonde in San Diego, the cameras just naturally gravitate to you. I have never done anything other than exist and do what I would normally do whether there is a camera or not. To be honest, I rarely even notice unless they come and talk to me. As one of my old friends put it..."Christie, there can be a man on fire right here in front of you and instead of the media camera being on the burn victim, it would be on you asking you how you feel about the guy burning." Now I've never heard anything more true. In fact, each time I have been approached by media or film makers, I have ALWAYS sent them to other people. Now just because I'm able and willing to talk to people on camera does not mean I went out of my way to get that. In fact, I never wanted any of it. I dropped out of Hollywood and the whole camera thing for a reason. One, I'm actually very uncomfortable. I'm my own worst critic. I actually hate hearing my voice, I don't like looking at my crooked face and I sometimes forget to say the things that are important anyway...hence the reason I've always tried to get others to speak. I also prefer to be BEHID the camera... So, according to Jeff Schwilk and other minutemen, I am a media whore. Why? I guess because I end up being in the media more than them. I'm sure it must be hard to understand for them, being that they seek media attention on a daily basis! Not only that, they pick and choose. I have been witness to people in the movement screaming and yelling at reporters and camera men numerous times as soon as they ask them a question. They are told that they are the enemy, they are liars and anti-American. Well, if you were a reporter, would you want to go talk to those same people again? So we're in a catch 22...there are only a handful of peple that treat them as if they are human, and even fewer who do not discrimnate in who is good enough for them to talk to. My opinion is that all media (although not equal and always fair) are people. If they ask to speak with us and we call them names, yell at them or treat them less than someone else, what kind of report would you expect...especially if you know they are already biased against you? There are so many issues we face today that I believe it would be more effective if we all treated them with dignity and respect. The reporters can only work with what we give them. If you ignore them, they write their own story. If you are rude...well, that's a story. If you treat them with respect, you have a better chance of them telling your story. No matter what side of whatever issue you think they are on, you have to remember they are just doing their job! They also have families, bosses, loved ones a life...we have a better chance of them portraying what we want them to if we give them the time of day. Enough on that... I'm just tired of all these ridiculous accusations, especially when they are made by people that are guilty of what they are accusing me of.  I think that's
the first rule of Cointelpro and disinformation.If I'm the media whore, why do certain people send out press releases to media EVERY DAY and why do they always put me in it??? I've done everything I can to disassociate myself with everyone in their perfet little circle, including giving up talking to people I do respect for fear of retaliation on them. Other people are scared for thie lives because of what they have seen them do to me already. I'm just a girl, trying to live my life. If media does call me, no matter who they are or where they are from, I will treat everyone equally and answer their questions. Some people it seems are in the activism business only to say, "Look at me...look what I'm doing." Now I've been active in many volunteer projects throughout the years and never once said. "Look at me." In fact most of the things I've done are known to no one...oh yeah, there wasn't a camera there and I didn't go out of my way to get on to look at me...my mistake. I should have written a press release and called them repeatedly like some other people I know. I never did anything to get attention and I'm sure that if I was a 5'6" overweight brunette, I could have gone another 100 years without being noticed for anything. Speaking of media...even when I ended up co hosting a show for WB, I did not go looking for that. I was invited on the show long ago to talk about the local entertainment industry. I was doing a little bit of modelling and acting at the time. They asked me if I would wear a bikini because they were doing some kind of silly show. I declined. 2 hours later they called back to see if I would reconsider, but I could wear a dress...I said yes. I never had the desire to take my clothes off for money so I ended up turning down many more jobs than I ever took. Anyway, I went to the show, it was fun. The producer asked me if I would talk to him and he said he enjoyed my personality and asked if I would return. The following week, I was on the show again also with a tray full of different desserts I had created. I had a catering business at the time and was distributing these around town. After the show, he asked me again if I wanted to be there full time...uh, okay! So that is
how I ended up being on my first live morning TV talk show.Anwyay, I'm rambling as usual... I just think it's interesting how I keep getting accused of all the things that my attackers are guilty of. Another one they have accused me of which you can see on their webiste and other emails I have attached in a prior blog is that I am a con artist and defrauded many Americans out of tens of thousands of dollars. I and many others have asked...who, what, when, where, why and how? We have yet to receive an answer to back up these claims... His claim is that I 'stole' these donations. Who did I steal them from and how? Now what's really funny is that the person accusing me of this is the person who actually sent a plea for help after my house was mysteriously buglarized in broad daylight with my dog home...don't forget the bars on all the windows... When he sent this plea, he had HIS address....the same address he still uses on his site, to send the donations to. He did in fact give me several hundred dollars in donations that month. That was the first and last time. So my question is, if he was the one getting the mail to his address and gave me a few already open envelopes, how was I ever able to steal anything??? This person also has been collection donations for over 2 years and depositing them in his joint back account with his wife that he lied to me about when he was courting me. He is NOT a dba, a non profit org, or registered business. So talk about stealing....? He is taking this money under the assumption of the American people that he is 'securing the border.' Why is it that we have more people crossing the borders illegally now than we did when they first started collecting money for that effort? What about the IRS? He was also collecting money for MY work that he stole on his site even after he admitted and apologized for stealing videos. Don't forget he also took credit for ahving my youtube site taken down in February, when he stole my videos and has also made public claims in many media outlets about 'owning' my videos. One report he even took credit for filming them! Anyway, maybe I should blog about liars...maybe someone can help me understand why people lie so much. I'm sure everyone has their reason, but I do believe that some people just don't have any consious or values. I have met a few people like that and have even tried to help.
